Him and the Log Cabin Republicans are delusional if they think they can turn the Clown Car around. A little bit of denial of facts? Uh, no. He can wear his allegiance on his sleeve, but his party cares not for him and anyone like him. To them he is the enemy. Years and miles are ahead for any reversal of this train wreak. I just hope the rest of us don’t go down with them.

I’m in his camp. It’s a lonely business trying to turn around the Republican ship. But the thing is, we’re right, and the party leadership and enthusiasts are wrong, so in the end we’re going to win.
Or they’re going to lose all their elections from here to eternity, and dwindle into irrelevance. The evidence will contradict the climate-denier position ever more emphatically as time goes by. Businesses will lean on the Republicans to break with their error/ploy and face up to the new reality.
And there will be opportunity. Wind and solar are steadily getting cheaper and closer to being competitive on their other merits, leaving to the side their potential for mitigating the damage that’s happening to the climate. The Republican who figures out that he can campaign against NIMBY heel dragging against wind power, or nuclear power, or what have you, and change spots on climate change while staying within the anti-regulation tent, will be the one to win when all the others are losing. And he’ll get away with it because fear of the economic pain associated with transitioning to wind/solar/nuclear will no longer be weighing heavily on the thinking of his voting public.

He’s free to believe what he wants to believe but he’s really on a lonely ship there given not only do Republicans and their leadership deny climate change but treat scientists like him as traitors for believing so. He really should do himself a favor and save himself the stress and just quit the GOP.
